China’s Kling: AI Video Generator Rivals Sora
Kling can generate up to 120-second videos with 30 frames per second at 1080P resolution and free aspect ratio. According to its creators, their AI model can understand physics better and model complex motion accurately.

Quote of the Week: Ashton Kutcher
Ashton Kutcher (of that 70’s Show, bit also a venture Capitalist) has access to Sora and has been playing around with it. He went on to suggest that eventually there would be no point in making films in the traditional way once AI develops fully, and pointed out that it will also save a lot of money.
I have a beta version of it and it’s pretty amazing,” he said (via Variety). “You can generate any footage that you want. You can create good 10, 15-second videos that look very real. It still doesn’t quite understand physics…But if you look at the generation of this that existed one year ago as compared to Sora, it’s leaps and bounds, In fact, there’s footage in it that I would say you could easily use in a major motion picture or a television show.”
You’ll just come up with an idea for a movie, then it will write the script, then you’ll input the script into the video generator and it will generate the movie,
But this was the kicker comment that infuriated users on social media:
“Why would you go out and shoot an establishing shot of a house in a television show when you could just create the establishing shot for $100?
Cara Zooms to 650k as Instagram Sours
Okay, maybe that’s just wishful thinking on my part, I don’t actually know if people are leaving Instagram, but many people are flocking to Cara, a new social network built specifically for artists. While you might not have the patience for yet-another-social platform, if you’re an artist you should check it out or at least read about it on TechCrunch. Thanks to Kaitlin G. For this hot tip!
Text to 3D is suddenly Really Good with Rodin
Well it was only a week ago that I was telling my students that they should learn 3D because it was an AI proof skill; as well as committing to my own course of study for the summer. I had played around with a few text-to 3D tools, but they still produced primitive results. This is a little confusing, so bear with me: Go to this URL:
https://hyperhuman.deemos.com/ and then look for a product called Rodin.
You can then start with a text prompt or an image upload and you can quickly make variations without any cost. There are a few complicated steps before you are charged (I used 2 of my 10 free credits to get the cheese below), but I was able to generate, download, import into Spline, and then animate in less than 5 minutes. The subscription is expensive, but if you’re learning 3D, this one can’t be ignored.
A Deeper Dive into AI Audio. Suno +Udio
To be clear, I know nothing about music and when I review tools like Suno, I lack the vocabulary to say if it’s output is good or not. If you’re interested in AI generated music, you should check out this extensive guide on how to get better results out of Suno and Udio. Let me know what you think.
ChatGPT Voice Demos are Mind Blowing
If you work in the voice over industry, or really and kind of storytelling that relies on voice (video games, animation), you should watch this demo of Chat GPT Voice that generates character voices on the fly, and then makes immediate modifications from the creator’s feedback…with voice input alone! While not available yet, this is Sora level voice generation and is both inspiring and terrifying. While this might be yet another false promise to hype up the product, you should still Click here, scroll down and spend two minutes watching the video.

Big Tech Launches a Campaign to Promote AI Art?
I don’t really know what to make of this one. AI art needed it’s own cheerleader website? And it’s funded by a progressive think tank (funded by big tech). First I read this article from Variety Which lead me the site of the Chamber of Progress, which looks like something that aligns with my values. I really had to hunt for it, but I finally found ‘Generate and Create’, a website devoted to defending the rights of AI art. It feels like something out of “Thank You For Smoking”
The group says the campaign, called “Generate and Create” and unveiled on Thursday, will aim to highlight “how artists use generative AI to enhance their creative output” and “showcase how AI lowers barriers for producing art” as part of an initiative to “defend the longstanding legal principle of fair use under copyright law.”
I Made a Short Tutorial Video for Pixverse.ai
I hope your summer is off to a great start. I’m trying to get my YouTube channel off the ground and learn more about Spline, Framer, and, of course, all the AI tools. Do you have a request for a YouTube tutorial? Send it my way.
